Introduction

At GROWx we developed an innovative and disruptive vertical farming technology that enables us to grow high quality crops all over the world at a competitive price. With the development of our new fully automated vertical farm, GROWx is ready for the future of food supply. 

GROWx is a young, but extremely fast-growing organization. This is especially true for our GROWxTech department, for which we need more people. This department deals with all technical matters around the farm:  robotization, sensoring, seeding, harvesting, climate control and software development. 

Activities:  

• Development of machine parts, prototypes, proof-of-concepts and further developments towards (large-scale) production. 
• Installation of new machines and robotic systems. 
• Locating errors and failure causes and assessing the nature, severity and extent of the error. 
• Setting up a maintenance plan and plans for new machines to be developed.
• Performing inspections, performing preventive and periodic maintenance and making proposals for improvement. 

Job requirements: 

• Hbo–mechanical engineering, Engineering, Design and Innovation or equivalent
• Mastery of the Dutch and English language, orally as well as writing
• Knowledge of processing and production options 
• At least three years of work experience in a similar position 
• Being able to work independently as well as in a team

GROWx is founded in 2016 and acquired by its current owner in 2019. GROWx is an industrial food producer that continuously develops knowledge and technology to grow the cleanest and healthiest crops with the highest yield on a minimum surface area. The production plants remain the property of GROWx and the technology is made available to the customer “as a service”. If desired, a distribution partner can participate in a local plant per country or region. 

A vertical farm can be seen as vertically stacked cells with an indoor cultivation system, which is fully air-conditioned and equipped with LED lamps. By fully robotising the farm and using Artificial Intelligence, the nutrition and light for the crops are continuously optimized and further developed. For example, a crop can be “programmed” for maximum vitamin production or a (specific) strong taste. We produce nutrient-rich, affordable and tasty leafy vegetables, herbs and microgreens every day. All in a sustainable way.

• You have completed a MBO-4 or HBO education in the field of Mechatronics 
• Experience in the development of 3D printers would be an advantage

• At least three years of work experience in a similar position  
• Being able to work independently as well as in a team

• Establish and maintain documentation and specifications, final documentation and / or the technical construction file.

• You have completed an HBO Mechanical Engineering education  
• Knowledge of processing and production options/ capabilities 
• Experience with automatization of (human) actions 
• Mastery of the Dutch and English language, orally as well as writing
• You have a hands-on mentality 
• At least three years of work experience in a similar position  
• Being able to work independently as well as in a team
